Introduction

The purpose of this blog is demonstrating how you can replace the pitch of your Technics SL-1200MKII and then make it new again. Usually this is required after a certain period of usage, and it depends how much you use your turntable, the pitch starts to degrade and the variation of the music speed is no longer constant.

Starting procedures

So now finally let´s replace that pitch, which sometimes we call it bitch when it screw up our mixes... Well, firstly remove the metal plate and turn it upside down. Notice that in order not to harm our turntable we need to use a support as indicated in the last picture.

Remove the screws of the pitch board as well as the screws on the metal cover at the upper side of the pitch.

There are four terminals at each side of the board, plus the two terminals in the middle for the led connection, which makes the total of 10 terminals to be unwelded. Use a screw driver to help you to remove the pitch, as shown in the last picture.
